The Third Annual Lady Got Chops Women's Month Jazz Festival
The Jazz (aka Jazz Spot) is a cozy jazz café which is owned by an African American mother daughter team and celebrating it’s second year. The owners are dedicated to keeping Jazz alive as well as introducing it to the youth in the community. They present an outdoor summer series in an adjacent garden on Kosciuszko St. In conjunction with co-produce/ web manager Kim Clarke, The JAZZ presents: The Third Annual LADY GOT CHOPS Women's Month Jazz Festival for the month of March. This year’s featured artists and dates of performance are:
- Visions with Aziza Miller
- Alto saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin & Trio
- Pianist Goussy Celestin Trio
- Saxophonist Audrey Wright and Jazzsquad
- PianistRoberta Piket Trio
- Famed Vocalist Tonni Smith & Trio
- Bassist Kim Clarke Trio
- Pianist Cathy Harley Trio
This multicultural event will be held in the coziness of the Jazz Spot. The exposed brick walls, fireplace, smoke and alcohol -free environment provide a perfect atmosphere in which one may enjoy the sultry sounds and exotic interpretations of these lovely ladies.
The JAZZ SPOT is located at 375 Kosciuszko Street at 179 Marcus Garvey Boulevard, Brooklyn N.Y. 11221. Performances on Friday and Saturday are $10 at the door, Lectures, workshops and solo performances are $10. Tickets can be purchased at the club (718) 453-7825 Weekend concert hours are 9pm-1 am. Monday night Jam session are 8pm- midnight
