THE HUDSON VALLEY FRIENDS OF JAZZ and PLANET ARTS In association with THE NORTH POINTE CULTURAL ARTS CENTER
PRESENT JAZZ - one2one Fall 2005 SERIES
Planet Arts in collaboration with The Hudson Valley Friends of Jazz announce the fourth edition of their innovative jazz duo series. The concerts will take place on the first Saturday of the months of October, November and December at the North Pointe Cultural Arts Center in Kinderhook, NY. Each concert will include a pre-performance “Jazz Talk" as well as a post performance “Meet the Artist".
Saturday October 1, 2005 Piano innovator, Frank Kimbrough returns to the upper Hudson Valley with Joe Locke (regarded by many to be the most gifted vibraphonist of his generation). “…This duo has mastered the art of the perfectly placed note, the ebulliently swinging storyline, the poetic ending…" David Adler - AllAboutJazz New York

Saturday November 5, 2005 Roswell Rudd's Soundscapes: A key transitional figure of the 60's, Roswell Rudd,accompanied by pianist Lafayette Harris, will mix original compositions with the music of Fats Waller, Duke Ellington, Herbie Nichols and Thelonious Monk.

Saturday December 3, 2005 A Musical Dialogue with Lewis Nash (drums/percussion) and Steve Wilson (saxophones). Two of the most sought after musicians on the jazz scene team up for a unique and exiting evening of jazz standards and creative improvisation.
