Las Vegas, NV - November 25, 2000 - The Groove Diggers, a jazz band who perform a tribute to the late, great saxophone legend, John Haley Zoot" Sims, announce the creation of a website devoted to the musical heritage of Zoot and the Sims family.
An enormous collection of photographs, documents and recordings, inherited by L.P. Sims (nephew of Zoot), will be shared on the website, www.zootsims.com, for jazz enthusiasts and music fans around the world to experience and enjoy. These items, most not having seen the light of day for over 40 years, will be displayed along with detailed information about Zoot's recording career. Influenced by a rich family musical legacy, guitarist L.P. Sims and saxophonist Jim Hall continue the tradition by recording and performing the best from the past, with original material penned by L.P. Sims. Links to audio and video files will be available and The Groove Diggers music will be offered for sale. At present, many items are being prepared for display on the website with a selection which is already viewable.
