Some of these stats were released at Canadian Music Week last month, though Nielsen Soundscan has now released a more complete sales picture for 2010. This covers the 52-week period ending January 2nd, 2011, though for whatever reason Nielsen just released the data this week.
Most of the trends resemble the US. At a top level, broader albums slumped 11 percent, despite a digital album sales gain of 25 percent. But a-la-carte downloads are also gaining (by 20%), leading to some speculation that a different trajectory than the US may be emerging (let's see).
