Washington D.C.-based jazz phenomenon Ski Johnson celebrated his newest masterpiece New Beginnings with an album release event at Lavar Arrington's The Sideline Restaurant on May 10, 2009 in Washington, DC. The Sideline Restaurant teamed up with MAJIC 102.3's Mike Chase to host the star-studded event, which included celebrity guest Anwan “Big G" Glover from HBO's The Wire.

New Beginnings is a fusion of jazz, R&B, hip-hop and DC-originated go-go. Ski's romantic and up-beat saxophone styles combine to create his most anticipated eighth album, inspired by a life-changing personal journey. The album features notable musical engineers such as Snoop Dogg producer Antone' “Chooky" Caldwell and Earth, Wind and Fire producer Paul Minor. Sponsored by The American Cancer Society, a portion of the proceeds from New Beginnings' sales will be donated to the foundation.
