Signorello will perform selections from his Hey Man, Merry Christmas CD on Brown Dog Records
I'm John Signorello. Growing up with an Italian heritage in New York meant growing up with the music of Frank Sinatra. I was five years old when I fell in love with the Big Band hits of my parents' era. Mastering trumpet, piano and guitar before I was a teenager, I dreamed of a music career while playing along to their Glenn Miller, Dorsey Brothers and Frank Sinatra records. But as I grew older, I put aside my dream of becoming a professional entertainer for a career in business. By 30, I was running my own company, but my heart and thoughts always returned to music and to performing live. In the mid- 90's my dream came true, and I've been recording and performing professionally ever since.
I've always wanted to make a Christmas album that my parents would love - reminiscent of my childhood Christmas dinners, with a house full of family, a glass full of wine, a table full of food, and Frank or Dean on the Victrola. Hey Man, Merry Christmas is my gift this holiday season and is a masterfully produced collection of big-band holiday classics plus a Christmas song I wrote for my children called A Christmas Lullaby." I recorded it in Long Island with Richie Cannata (of Billy Joel's band), Dave Trigg (Natalie Cole), Don Harris (Tower of Power) and it was arranged by Richie Iocona. I'll be performing with my my band at the Iridium in New York on December 10 and at Blues Alley in Washington, DC on December 12, more dates to come. As they are confirmed, we'll let you know. I'm proud to release this CD this Christmas for my family and yours to enjoy.
