Internationally acclaimed solo artist, producer, and composer Sean O'Bryan Smith signs with Sydney, Australia's Wolf Entertainment Group" Dec. 19th, 2011
Internationally acclaimed bassist, solo artist, producer and composer Sean O'Bryan Smith has announced that he will be joining the Wolf Entertainment Group family. Sean will be joining the Sydney, Australia based company as one of their contemporary jazz artists with a global digital distribution deal. In celebration of this signing, Sean will be rereleasing his critically acclaimed premiere solo album Tapestry with a brand new, never before heard bonus track. The bonus track will also feature guest appearances by the popular US contemporary jazz saxophonist Joyce Spencer and the incomparable styling's of German trumpeter Hans Peter Salentin. The new single's release date will be announced in the next couple of weeks and will premiere Worldwide soon thereafter.
The rerelease of Tapestry also marks the scene for the release of Sean's highly anticipated second solo album entitled Reflection which will release Easter 2012. Reflection was nearly three years in the making and is Sean's first gospel jazz offering as artist, arranger, composer, and producer. Reflection includes performances by a wealth of the world's top talent including Gerald Albright, Randy Brecker, Frank Catalano, Jeff Franzel, Chuck Loeb, Jack Pearson, and International superstar/musician/actor Malcolm Jamal Warner.
In addition to his highly successful career as solo artist, Sean is a sought after producer in virtually every genre in the industry. He is currently producing projects for artists across the United States as well as from countries as far away as Indonesia, Germany, Norway, Poland, and South Africa. Because of this success Sean will also be joining the Wolf Entertainment Group as a staff producer and will be working with them to develop and produce new talent for the label.
Sean's background has been as diverse as his musical tastes. As a professional bassist he has resided in Nashville, TN since 1999 and has recorded or performed with some of the legends of the music industry. Some of the major artists that Sean has lent his talent to include Larry Carlton, Rick Braun, Anna Wilson, Keith Urban, Kenny Rogers, Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker, Wynonna, Billy Ray Cyrus, and the list goes on and on. He has also shared the stage as an artist with some of the world's top contemporary jazz artists including Esperanza Spalding, Brian Bromberg, Victor Wooten, the late Michael Brecker, Chris Poland, Joe Taylor, Tony “Thunder" Smith, Lisa Hearns, and Cheryl Pyle.
Finally, Sean is an extremely active bassist/artist and is heavily collaborating with jazz artists all over the world. For 2012 alone, Sean is slated to be a featured artist on over a dozen new releases with artists from all parts of the globe and more projects come in daily. He is combining this with an active producing, composing, touring and recording schedule and he is also an active author and writer who is heavily involved in furthering music education through clinics and his writings.
