Reggie Workman's Sculptured Sounds Music Festival, a four concert series of futuristic music and concepts, ignites into its second week with:

KAYO - Spoken-Word Artist, Winner of the Def Jam Poetry Competition (accomp. by Yayoi Ikawa (P))
RASHIED ALI QUINTET - This Coltrane alum and fixture on the avant- garde scene turns the drum kit into a polyrhythmic propellant. Ali will be joined by new guard Joris Teep (B), Greg Murphy (P), Jumaane Smith (Trpt.) And Lawerence Clark (TSax)
GREAT FRIENDS - A joyous re-union of this Jazz All-Star band (Stanley Cowell(P), Sonny Fortune (A.Sax), Billy Hart(D) Billy Harper (Tnr. Sax) & Reggie Workman (B))for a rare New York appearance!

Preceding the music @ 6:45, noted Biographer Ashley Kahn, author of “A Love Supreme" will chat with Reggie about this definitive biography of John Coltrane.
