Singer Melanie L. Lozano Negron, received the scholarship in the music workshops that the prestigious university offers in Puerto Rico this past Sunday June 1, 2008.
The talent of Melanie, was appreciated in the closing of the Heineken Jazz Fest 2008 in the amphitheater Tito Puente in San Juan, Puerto Rico, where she received the applause and the affection of everyone there present, this scholarship will give Melanie the opportunity to obtain the necessary tools to achieve her dreams that are to be become a famous singer and with the help of God, to represent the beautiful island of Puerto Rico through her presentations.
The puertorican singer was born on December 11, 1984 in San Francisco, California, her parents Lus Lozano and Carmen Lozano, discovered the talent of Melanie when she was only 3 years of age when she used to sing looking thru the window and used to created melodies and compositions at the moment, at the age of 13, the young singer gave her talent to God singing in a chorus at church, Melanie understood that her talent is a gift from God.
The talent of Melanie began to give good results when she obtained the first place in a competition in the intermediate school singing the classic of Mariah Carey, HERO", this triumph was only the beginning of this talented singer, in high school when already living in Miami, Florida, she was part of the Omega Singers, a group where the singer sang and danced and where she had the responsibility to be the soloist, this group also obtained first place in several national competitions.
Also the young pianist Natanael Molina Rodriguez, was rewarded with a scholarship to study in the prestigious University of Berklee College of Music in Boston, the scholarship will allow the young pianist to have the opportunity to have his dreams come thru.
The workshops of Berklee in Puerto Rico, The Puerto Rico Heineken jazz Fest 2008 and the coordination of Mr. Lus lvarez, president of Mendez & Comp, have served has the source so that students like Natanael, can benefit of the music studies that this prestigious university offers.
Natanael, was born June 8, 1985 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he completed his studies in Gilberto Concepcion de Gracia high school in the town of Carolina. He started his first classes of piano in the school of The Fine Arts of the Autonomous Municipality of Carolina, Puerto Rico with the professor Richard Trinidad, quick its talent opened the doors to what is figured will be his future, the music.
At the age of 16, he began to work as a musician in different local orchestra acquiring in this way experience and knowledge in the musical environment. The young puertorican pianist, dreams of being an important figure in the world of the music as a pianist and composer, currently Natanael is 23 years of age and he works with an endless number of important orchestra like Humberto Ramrez, Charlie Sepulveda, Elas Lopz, Lus (Perico) Ortiz and the puertorican flutist Enrique (Kalani) Trinidad just to mention a few.
Puertorican singer Nichole Calderon, received the Outstanding Musicianship Award that recognizes the most talented students of the workshops at Berklee College of Music. She was also invited to participate as a soloist in the Puerto Rico Heineken Jazz Fest 2008, where she obtained an ovacion in acceptance to her talent.
Nichole was born in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico November 1, 1989, her father, Mr. Guillermo Calderon is an arranger and musical producer. She has studied in the Conservatory of Music of Puetro Rico and has vocal trainning under Prof.Hilda Branches. Currently recording her third album. her dream is to become an ambassador in music and represent her home land around the world.
