Town Hall Meeting to Preserve Former Long Island Home of Jazz Legend John Coltrane
On Tuesday Evening, April 20th, 2004, the township of Huntingdon, Long Island will hold a meeting to vote whether to save the John Coltrane home in Dix Hills from demolition (and, upon purchase from the seller of the real estate, preserve it as a jazz museum, historical site, and educational center). The vacant home was discovered by jazz fan Steve Fulgoni as a result of an article he read on All About Jazz! Steve has generated incredible support from jazz artists, record companies, and fans on behalf of this project. All About Jazz is asking that you support the project in the following two ways:
- Appear at the town hall meeting on April 20, to provide support and, if requested, to express your views on why the home should be preserved as an historic site.
- Make a donation of any amount, large or small, via a check to the order of the not-for-profit (tax deductible)
