This new single is from Vega’s upcoming album As I Travel which will be released on October 27, 2023. The album consists of 9 tunes, all composed and arranged by Vega.
The album depicts poignant moments in the personal journey of Donald Vega beginning from his hometown in Masaya, Nicaragua through his worldwide travels performing as an established artist.
“¡Baila! Dance Like No One’s Watching" is the first single to be released from As I Traveland tells a tandem story of joyful expression. In Vega’s native Nicaragua, poverty abounds and yet the people are known for their joyful nature. They take time to celebrate every moment and Dance Like No One’s Watching. Vega recognized this same joyful spirit in his son. The song was composed as a celebration of that optimistic, joyful nature in both his family and his home country.
Performing on the single is Donald Vega (piano), John Patitucci (bass), Lewis Nash (drums), and Luisito Quintero (percussion).
