Performance: Michael Ward at Sweet Lorraine's, New Orleans on November 28 & 29

Michael Ward figures he's performed at a club, concert or event surrounding the Bayou Classic for the last 25 years or so. “I'm a Southern Knight," the hugely talented electric violinist and Southern University of Baton Rouge graduate declares with pride. Continuing the tradition, Ward plays a two-night stand at Sweet Lorraine's, Friday, November 28 following the big “Battle of the Bands" at the Dome and Saturday, November 29 after the main event. “It's an ideal spot for the adults who come to town for the game who are looking for somewhere to go that isn't oriented toward the college kids," Ward says. Ward, an energized artist who only plays in his hometown of New Orleans several times a year, makes the occasion even more special by inviting down two important guests, trumpeter Joey Summerville and guitarist Eric Essex. They will join him and local bassist Donald Ramsey, keyboardist Kendrick Marshall and his drummer of 16 years, Shannon Hamilton.
