It's the Talk of the Town was a 1933 song written by Jerry Livingston, with lyrics by Al J. Neiburg and Marty Symes. It quickly became a standard, with many pop artists recording it.
Perhaps the best instrumental version was by jazz pianist Erroll Garner. Recorded on July 2, 1951 for Columbia, Garner was accompanied by bassist John Simmons and drummer Shadow Wilson. It's pure perfection.
