People Like MTV. but Not as Much as They Like iTunes...

Perhaps the level of ubiquity and comfort surrounding iTunes is too frequently underestimated. But 'iTunes killers' rarely live up to their names—and even major brands have difficulty competing with this app. In fact, among music properties, iTunes narrowly edges out MTV on the Facebook front. These are the number of 'likes' for each:

iTunes (7,071,721)
MTV (7,043,056)

This is part of a broader ranking of 'likes' for brands compiled by TNW Social Media, a list that iTunes forced its way into. Actually, the broader ranking includes some very music-interested names, including Starbucks (#1) and Redbull (#5).
