An independent act, PD3 has found critical acclaim since the release of their debut CD Street Scene in January 2004 and Into the Blue is a real development of their sound. When heard, it is sure to lead to a wider fan base and more opportunities both here and abroad.
They have already performed regularly across the UK including Glastonbury Festival, Marlborough Jazz Festival and Pizza Express Soho and are looking to increase their live appearances.
We are independent," says Pete, therefore we don't have the high-powered marketing support or budget of a major label so we need the belief of radio and news people plus live performances and friends to spread the word. We only ask people to listen."
Management support has also come from David Carr (Clare Teal's manager) who's belief and hard work has helped them raise their profile.
Download ability is a plus for independents and already debut CD Street Scene is available on iTunes, Rhapsody and many leading digital retailers.
Pete produced the CD himself. It's something I believe in. People who hear it, regardless of their attitude to jazz, of all ages, find something to relate to. We've been called 'Accessible fusion'."
The album features Tim Bruce on drums, Andy Coe on double bass and two tracks with Phil Berry on double bass and electric bass.
Into the Blue includes three original pieces plus their own unique versions of Straight No Chaser," Fragile," Stella By Starlight," Little Wing" and others. An eclectic mix which works surprisingly well, when filtered through their unique approach.
