Oscar Peterson at 80 - Diana Krall Plays and Sings (Photos in Gallery)

What a wonderful get together at HMV downtown Toronto today as Oscar Peterson celebrated his 80th birthday with the unveiling of a commerative stamp and impromptu concert from Diana Krall. Krall performed and Oscar Peterson original with lyrics by Elvis Costello. Krall was nervous near tears in her ode to Oscar. There was nothing false about the joy and mutual respect but artists have for the other. I've added images from today's occasion to my photo gallery in Allaboutjazz's Visual Arts center.
