Osami Mizuno, a Japanese drummer, just released his first album titled “TENMA."
The music packaged in this CD is based on Jazz, but it is NOT an ordinary so-called Jazz music...it's a mixture of various kinds of music; Jazz, Ambient, Rock, Classical, Japanese and Chinese music. That means, it is the real “Fusion" music.

Osami Mizuno studied with the legendary mentor Alan Dawson in the mid '70s. Since then Vinnie Colaiuta and Steve Smith have been his best friends. While working as a studio musician in Japan, he started his new career as an educator in the '90s to keep Alan Dawson's legacy alive. He published two instruction books, Alan Dawson Drum Method Vol.1 and Alan Dawson Drum Method Vol.2, under the permission by Florence Dawson (Alan's widow).
TENMA is his first album as a leader. This CD is a tribute to his American father Alan Dawson, and his bro Tony Williams.

TENMA is available worldwode at GEMM (http://officemizuno.gemm.com/)
