Omnitone Tags Karl Owens As Marketing Associate To Grow Business
Brooklyn, New York - OmniTone, the #1 independent recording label for “adventurous and listenable jazz," is proud to announce the appointment of Karl Owens to the new position of Marketing Associate. Owens' duties will include working with US and international distributors and running OmniTone Visions, the label's program for emerging artists. He will work out of New York and Nice, France.
“While this has been a challenging time for independent labels, OmniTone has continued to grow its roster of distributors and its catalogue," notes Frank Tafuri, president and founder of OmniTone Inc. “Additional coverage only made sense given our plans for growth."
Karl Owens is a working jazz trombonist and graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. He had a 20-year diversion into the technology field as a value-added partner to Microsoft. “The experience of adding value to Microsoft's product line is quite relevant to the position of Marketing Associate. I look forward to being of service to OmniTone and its partners," explains Owens.
