Woody Shaw
San Francisco Express – Getting It Together is a Jazz/Funk intergalactic space odyssey recorded in 1975.

Woody Shaw is featured on the album blasting out Miles Davis inspired trumpet solos over spaced-out synthesizers infused with heavy drum breaks & a psychedelic horn section. The album masterfully blends Street-Corner Funk with Cosmic Soul Jazz.

Also featured on the album is Moog/Synthesizer virtuoso Dr. Patrick Gleeson, the mastermind behind the 1970’s landmark albums by Herbie Hancock (Crossings, Sextant, Manchild) & Charles Earland (Leaving This Planet). The Getting It Together album was recorded at Dr. Gleeson’s Different Fur studios where the magic that defined the electronic sound of Herbie Hancock’s 1970’s recordings was created.

San Francisco Express – Getting It Together, originally released on the Reynolds Records label is pressed from the original Master Tapes on limited edition vinyl, limited edition Japanese import CD & digital download via iTunes.
