The Jazz Standard, one of the nation's premier jazz clubs, presents another month of great jazz in January. From January 7-10 master pianist Kenny Barron with an all star quintet, followed on January 12-14 by guitarist David Gilmore and his exceptional new band Numerology. ECM recording group FLY - the trio of Mark Turner, Larry Grenadier, and Jeff Ballard - will hold forth from January 21-24.
Jazz Standard continues their celebrated Mingus Mondays residency with performances by the Mingus Big Band (January 11 and 25) and Mingus Orchestra (January 18).
All show times are at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., with an additional 11:30 p.m. show on Fridays and Saturdays. Jazz Standard is located at 116 E. 27th Street (between Lexington and Park). Take train 6 to E. 28th Street.
