NYC Duo Brings Ray Charles & Betty Carter's Music Back Around

Soul/blues duo Dwight & Nicole (Dwight Ritcher & Nicole Nelson) have just sold out two shows at the Blue Note NYC, and two more at the Regattabar, Cambridge, MA, with their acclaimed show honoring the music of legendary duo Ray Charles & Betty Carter.

They return to the Northeast in May & June for shows at the Real Deal Jazz Club, a beautiful historic theater within the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center; Friday May 9 at 7:00pm & 9:30pm. (For tickets call 617-876-7777 or go to www.concertix.com)
and at Martha's Vineyard's premier venue, Outerland. (Formerly Hot Tin Roof) on Friday, June 6 at 9:00pm. (For tickets call 508-693-1137 ext. 13)

The show features lively renditions of duets “People Will Say We're in Love" and “Two to Tango", and Ray's classic show-stopper “Night Time is the Right Time". Expect to also hear some of Dwight & Nicole's own original material which showcases their noted vocal power & versatility as songwriters. Members of their “all-star little big band" include; Jeff Galindo (former member of the Ray Charles Big Band) on trombone, Scott Aruda on trumpet John Aruda on saxophone, Marty Richards on drums, John Lockwood on bass, and Tom West on piano.

Dwight & Nicole will be in the studio (Rear Window,Brookline, MA) over the next few months recording their new album to be released this Fall. The two are also planning on releasing a live album, featuring, along with some originals, a collection of Ray Charles & Betty Carter songs recorded live over four nights.
