Night And Day Series Starts This Sunday, October 23rd at 6pm (Park Slope, Brooklyn)

Dear Friends,
After feverish building, even more feverish menu planning and wine listing, we are delighted to announce the official opening of our beautiful back room. Those of you who have peeked in already know there is a 500 square foot glass ceiling. There are now French doors opening the whole length of the room onto President Street and as soon as we can test the acoustics we will trundle a baby grand piano in and start our music series.
But for the moment, literature . . .
This Sunday, October 23rd at 6pm, together with Picador Books, we are delighted to kick off our reading series with Mary Morris. She will read from her new novel, REVENGE, which Michael Cunningham calls “gripping" and “genuinely revelatory" and Anita Shreve calls “superb" and “beautiful." Mary is a recipient of the Rome Prize, amongst many other honors, and, just as importantly, a Park Slope resident.
On Sunday November 6th at 8:30pm the incomparable Deborah Latz will sing standards backed by her trio.
On Monday November 7th at 6pm we will hold the first of our monthly Brooklyn Artists Salons. You don't have to be from Brooklyn, it's open to everybody, but we are very keen to plant a Brooklyn flag. Please come and feel free to bring your friends.
Coming up:
Arturo O'Farrill and his trio The Brooklyn Writers Space Speakeasy--Stories from the Back Room, hosted by Sherry Weaver Jon Sobel's Blues series and the unveiling of the huge mural by Roberto Rabanne which celebrates the era of Cole Porter and which will start on the building outside the back room and plunge through the ceiling to cover the back wall. Breathtaking!
See you Sunday--and every other day from 8 in the morning till late at night!
