The Darkroom - New Orleans Center for the Photographic Arts will unveil the premiere exhibition of a group photography show on the theme of music in its gallery space in New Orleans for the months of April and May 2006. The show includes artwork from 25 outstanding photographers, including Rick Olivier, Lori Waselchuk, Judy Cooper, Steven Forster, Frances Billes and Alain Desvergnes and was curated by internationally acclaimed photographer Josephine Sacabo and Jennifer Shaw. It spans a wide range of photographic genres, including fine art, documentary and studio portraiture.
The April 27th opening will feature tribal belly dance by n.o.madic tribal.
April is jazz month in New Orleans, and the exhibition is timed to welcome visitors to the 37th New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival from April 28 - May 7, 2006.
