New Music Seminar's Dave Lory Launches New Artist Services and Management Company

Former industry executive and artist manager Dave Lory has created a new artist services, management, and production company called DJL Artist Services. Aiming to put to use philosophies and practices that Lory learned while partnering with Tom Silverman to bring back New Music Seminar in 2009; he is positioning his company to facilitate not only traditional management practices, but also management by the project and per hour.

In addition, DJL will offer consultation, tour management and coordination, as well as full event production assistance. Lory told Hypebot that he wanted to start a company that reflected the changes in how the industry defines success and empower artists with the new tools and concepts that are taught at NMS.

With this business model, Lory argues that artists will be able to utilize the pooled knowledge of the company in various stages of their career, where, previously, they might not have been able to find a manager to assist them.

Some of the first signings to DJL Artist Services are Oxzana, Comic Book Heroes, Christina Bianco, and Lanz.
