NEWPORT, RI, June 22, 2010 - George Wein, CEO of New Festival Productions, LLC, announced today that he is re-instating the $50.00 General Admission ticket for the Newport Folk Festival and CareFusion Newport Jazz Festival to give local buyers another chance to get this special price. The discounted tickets (regularly priced at $69.00) must be purchased in person at the Festival office located in Empire Tea & Coffee, 22 Broadway, or the Newport and Bristol County Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB), 23 America's Cup Avenue, both in Newport. Discount tickets must be purchased at CVB by July 5; tickets at the Festival office are available for a limited time.
Wein offered discount tickets earlier this spring to make it as easy and affordable as possible for the jazz and folk fans of Newport and the surrounding areas to attend their hometown festivals, which are a major part of Newport's and Rhode Island's cultural history.
In addition, from now until July 5, the festivals also are offering a buy-3-get-1 free package on bleacher seats to the Friday night concerts featuring Steve Martin for Folk and Jamie Cullum for Jazz at the International Tennis Hall of Fame at the Newport Casino. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Festival office only.
These offers are not available on-line or by phone. The CVB does not carry tickets to the Friday night events or for any reserved seating areas. Visit gonewport.com for CVB office hours and information.
