Portland, OR - Founded nearly 25 years ago, Allegro Corporation is well established as one of North America’s leading independent entertainment distributors. Nail Distribution, acquired by Allegro Corporation in 2001, has continually grown through both its successful pursuits of new business contracts and acquisitions of new businesses.

NAIL has a built a strong reputation as a premier purveyor of underground music of all stripes, and is pleased to announce the following exclusive distribution signings to the company’s growing roster: ESP-DISK (New York, NY), DIGITAL HARDCORE (London), JOHANN’S FACE (Chicago), TIMES BEACH (Detroit) and a renewed contract with CORNERSTONE RAS (California).

ESP – DISK: Founded by music lawyer Bernard Stollman, ESP-DISK opened for business in New York City in 1966. Among the artists who made their debuts as leaders on ESP were Gato Barbieri, Bob James, Marion Brown, Sun Ra, Roswell Rudd, Burton Greene, Patty Waters, Henry Grimes, Charles Tyler, Albert Ayler, Noah Howard, Sunny Murray, Milford Graves and Frank Wright. In 2005, ESP is back into the U.S. market after licensing masters in Europe throughout the ‘90’s. This is the first full- fledged movement from ESP since they originally shuttered their doors in the 70's. Classic albums in the ESP catalog include Sun Ra's Heliocentric Worlds Vol. I & II and Pearls Before Swine's – both have been re-mastered for release. Other titles will include bonus tracks and/or interviews and updated liner notes. Previously un-issued titles include the long-rumored existence of Sun Ra Heliocentric Worlds Vol. III, and Albert Ayler Live on the Riviera. Plans for 2006 include box set releases of material recorded in the ’50’s and 60’s from Miles Davis and Billy Holiday. www.espdisk.com

JOHANNE’S FACE: Two long-time friends, Marc Ruvolo and Gar Brandt, cooked up Johann's Face Records in Chicago, 1989. Both Marc and Gar wanted to document the snowballing Chicago punk scene by releasing records that they believed deserved a wider audience. The label would go on to release over 50 other titles, launching the careers of such legendary punk bands as The Smoking Popes, the Alkaline Trio, The Strike, Sludgeworth, Apocalypse Hoboken, and No Empathy as well as doing records for already-established bands such as Scared of Chaka and Zoinks!. www.johannesface.com
