Music-Video "Living at Wal-Mart" Catches Momentum, Goes Viral

What do you do when life hands you lemons? When musician and former Maine resident Pat Pepin found herself facing foreclosure, she did what she does best. She wrote a song.

Packing her personal belongings into her RV, she traveled south to Wilmington, North Carolina where, with the help of her friend, Michele Seidman, a musician, actress, and promoter of the Women in Blues Festival, they recorded this song and created a video for it which they posted on Youtube. This song-video is entitled “Living at Wal-mart."

This was three days ago, on January 7, 2010. Within the past several days she has received over 6,000 hits on her video. It has gone viral.

Michele says, “she and I have been working over time getting this one out to as many people and places as possible. not to mention handling the influx of email she and I are both getting about it. This has been a lot of fun to be honest!"

This is a catchy little ditty with a genuine hook inspired by adversity. Pat will be traveling to Memphis the weekend of January 20-23 to participate in the International Blues Challenge where she will be awarded for having created one of four best self-produced CDs this year.
