The MOL Jazz Festival Budapest, established in 2003, has become a series of events of unique rank and importance in Hungary. The festival spanned two days in 2003, three days last year, and this year we are expecting jazz lovers in a considerable number to visit the 15 locations on five days, between 14-18 September. This is the first year that the program of the festival is centred around one instrument, which is the piano in 2005: we are welcoming more than 30 keyboard players during five days.
In addition to the already well known venues, this year the National Concert Hall and Festival Theater of the Palace of Arts (www.mupa.hu) will host performances opening and closing the Celebration of Hungarian Jazz with the participation of world famous jazz musicians.
We hope that the circle of visitors to the festival will not only contain returning jazz enthusiasts but will be broadened by new fans of the style thanks to a carefully selected program featuring different styles of jazz and high quality technical solutions.
