Michaela Rabitsch, singer, composer and Austria's only and top female jazz trumpet player and her ingenious partner - composer and guitarist Robert Pawlik are pleased to announce their appearance at the 11th Annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival, presenting their junior release Moods. They present songs that reflect the passion, energy and emotions of their life with exclusively original compositions presented by both leaders, reflecting the core of their current work.

Together they have developed a rich and eventful style, never trying to be purist's only, but always looking for the core message of each song they are writing or playing, and how they can express it best.

The Cape Town International Jazz Festival has grown into a hugely successful international event since its inception in the year 2000. Attendance figures have increased from the initial 14 000 to 32 000 in the last ten years.

Melodytrip has ranked this proudly South African event as No.4 in the world, outshining events such as Switzerland's Montreaux Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland.

More than 40 international and local artists perform over two days on five stages. The festival has earned the status of being the most prestigious event on the African continent. Known as Africa's Grandest Gathering, the festival takes place on Saturday 03 and Sunday 04 April 2010 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

Michaela Rabitsch & Robert Pawlik will perform with their regular band - Dusan Novakov on drums and Karl Sayer on bass and share there the stage with George Benson, Jonathan Butler, Lira, Mezzoforte, Regina Carter, Jeff Lorber, Toots Thielemans, McCoy Tyner, Charles Lloyd, and many more...

In addition to their festival concert on April 3 they will do a Master Class on April 4 at The Space Theatre.

As international touring artists, Michaela and Robert have performed at Festivals and Jazz Clubs not only in their home country Austria, but also in Germany, Switzerland, The Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Romania, Israel, Italy, Serbia, Slovenia, Montenegro, Greece, Russia, Iran and China.
