Jambo Jazz! Three-Concert Fall Music Series October through December in Miami, Florida The Family Life Center at Church of the Open Door UCC located at 6001 NW 8th Avenue in Miami will be the new home of Jambo Jazz! this fall. The three-month long music series will spotlight various local artists residing in South Florida's Miami area.
Saturday, October 8 -- 3:00 p.m. The passionate, charismatic, lush, and sultry jazz vocalist Nicole Henry will honor women's vocal contributions to jazz at an outdoor concert that will recognize the strong influences women have had on jazz and resonate with the audience long after her two-hour performance.
Saturday, November 12 -- 3:00 p.m. The spotlight will be on jazz artist Leon “Foster" Thomas. Recognized as the “world's number one" steel pan player, Leon brings the steel pan to jazz with his Krossover Band.
Saturday, December 10 -- 3:00 p.m. The concert will feature talented jazz saxophonist Robert Batie. Batie delivers deeply rooted smooth jazz tones artfully mixed with today's neo-soul and urban hip-hop grooves.
Tickets are $25 per person for one concert or $60 per person for all three concerts with premium seating. Proceeds from all performances will benefit The Jambo Jazz Institute, a music conservatory that is being created to serve young artists in the Liberty City section of Miami.
