Veteran bassist/composer Mario Pavone and his quartet will be performing new music from their forthcoming release, Boom (Playscape Recordings), in June at New York's 55 Bar and CBGB's Downstairs Lounge. Pavone's quartet is a new configuration of former sidemen that performs his original compositions, as well as previously unrecorded works by the late Thomas Chapin. Boom is one of two releases coming in September to celebrate Playscape's 5th anniversary.
