Chicago, IL, December 10, 2001 – The music of the legendary Louis Prima will “Jump, Jive and Wail” its way back onto stages nationwide during his daughter Lena Prima’s live tribute “Louis Prima, That’s My Dad!”

Prima has just inked a worldwide management deal with Onesti Entertianment Corporation. Her show was test marketed this past summer at 12 corporate, festival and theatrical situations and all were met with standing ovations. “This is something fresh, upbeat and new,” said manager Ron Onesti, “Ms. Prima has a mass appeal with enough excitement to captivate audiences of all ages.”

Her high-energy show features Prima classics including “That Old Black Magic,” “Jump, Jive and Wail,” “Pennies from Heaven,” and “Sing, Sing, Sing.” Rare video footage of Louis Prima’s Ed Sullivan show performances, personal family photos and heartwarming stories of growing up as the daughter of a legend round out the 90-minute show. The Hollywood Casino outside of Chicago proclaimed, “That was one of the most exciting shows we’ve ever had.”

The inspiration for the tribute came in 1998 while Prima was performing on a cruise ship in the Caribbean. The audience’s response was so overwhelming when she sang a short tribute to her father that she decided to expand it into today’s version of the show.

Lena’s newly released CD, “Reminiscing” includes a live performance of some of her father’s biggest hits and also features five original jazz tunes either written or co-written by Ms. Prima. Further information on the CD is available at her website www.lenaprima.com.

Lena is the daughter of Gia Maione who first performed on stage with Louis in 1962. They were married in 1963 and Lena was born later that year. Her younger brother Louis Prima, Jr. was born in 1965. Gia and the rest of the Prima family toured with Louis until he fell ill in 1975.

Now 37 and a Las Vegas native, Lena continues to perform across the country. According to Joe Delaney of the Las Vegas Sun, “Lena Prima is a sure shot for stardom…here, the acorn did fall close to the Oak.”

Lena Prima is managed exclusively by The Onesti Entertianment Corporation, a Chicago based company that produces national act concerts, corporate events and public festivals around the country.
