On Monday, April 28, Chicago-based jazz vocalist, Lesley Byers will be swingin' hard at Chris's Jazz Cafe, 1421 Sansom Street, Philadelphia, PA from 8:00 PM - Midnight.

Byers and her trio will be touring the East coast performing their interpretations of wonderful standards from the Great American Songbook as well as some lesser known jazz gems. Byers has toured the States extensively over the past 10 years and spent 3 weeks performing in Japan in January 2007. This will be Byers' first show at the famed Chris's.

Byers and her trio are true staples to the Chicago jazz scene, both performing and teaching. Her trio will include Dan Effland on guitar, Joe Policastro on bass and Mikel Avery in drums. Cadence Magazine wrote, “... Lesley Byers has a timeless vocal sound, alternately seductive and innocent. She could easily be slotted next to Chris Connor, June Christy or Rosemary Clooney. Her energy and coolness are impeccable. Class and hipness work in equal measure here with marvelous results."
