Jeanie Scott, (formerly Jean McCarthy) and James Victor Scott, a.k.a. Jimmy Scott, are pleased to announce that they were married in an intimate private ceremony at The Covenant Community Church of Cleveland, Ohio with the Reverend Lawrence Boone presiding. Best Man was Mr. Donald Durrah, Jimmy's drummer's father-in-law. The ceremony took place at 12:00 noon on the day of New Years Eve.

Jimmy said, “...he wanted to start the New Year off right, that every New Year after that would be my special day."

The ring is spectacular: It has a high gallery setting, a round diamond in the middle surrounded by two smaller diamonds on each side and four diamonds on the shank, two on either side, set in platinum and white gold. Jimmy has a platinum band with three small diamonds in a diagonal setting.

Jeanie said, “We both feel very blessed and our relationship has reached a deeper level and higher plateau then even we imagined."

The happy couple will be leaving Saturday, January 10th on a working honeymoon that will take them to London, Istanbul, Paris, Austria, and Monaco.

Billie Holiday often singled out Jimmy Scott as her favorite singer, and over the course of a long, circuitous career that dates back to his 1949 jukebox hit “Everybody's Somebody's Fool" (with Lionel Hampton's Big Band), and a series of 1950s-'60s recordings for the Roost, Coral, Brunswick, and Savoy labels, Scott achieved notoriety as an R&B singer and pop balladeer.

To his legion of fans, like Alec Baldwin, Joe Pesci and Madonna, who said he is the only vocalist who can make her cry, he is like no other! He's been a mainstay on the New York club scene with recent appearances at the Iridium Jazz Club where he will again appear in early September.
