Pasadena, CA - June 5, 2008 - LA Music Academy announced specifics today for its upcoming annual Summer Program, running June 23 through July 3 and open to all interested musicians who have received at least one year of private instruction. In addition to learning from and playing with some of Southern California's top professional musicians, students will write an original song and record it at Pasadena's Firehouse Recording Studio.

Session One, from June 23-27, focuses on Rock, Funk and Blues. Session Two focuses on Jazz, Fusion and Latin, and takes place June 29-July 3. Each session concludes with a student concert.

“The summer program gives students a taste of what the entire school year encompasses," says LA Music Academy President Tom Aylesbury. He adds, “Our year round program is known for challenging and preparing students with an understanding of what it takes to obtain the skills necessary to perform with professional musicians while helping them to develop a successful career in the music business."

Students get a snapshot of the life at LA Music Academy throughout the school year, including band workshops with fellow students and performance workshops with professional musicians and instructors; classes for playing technique; a private half hour lesson with one of the faculty members; clinics and concerts with faculty and special guests; and a visit to Firehouse Recording Studio to record an original tune, created during one's week at the Academy. Either session is $700 or students can enroll in both for $1200.
