On the heels of a year's popularity and rave reviews since the introduction the JM-11 flatwound mandolin strings, JazzMando annnounces the expansion of its Labella “JM family" strings with the new JD-13 “JazzDola" mandola strings. (A mandola is tuned in fifths like a mandolin only a fifth lower, CGDA.) Jazz and other more sophisticated chromatic music genres require strings that conducive to closed finger position playing, less fatiquing. The polished metal and lighter composite gauging allow lighter action for better control and player comfort.

The JD-13 mandola sets like the sister JM-11 mandolin produce a warmer, sustained sound for linear phrasing, melodic playing and a rich full tone over a percussive prowess. Their construction can be characterized and “viola-like" than guitar.

E.&O. Mari, Inc has a long and healthy European heritage of string manufacturing dating three centuries back. Opening facilities in the United States back in 1916, the prestigious family-owned company still makes Labella strings used by today's premier artists world wide.
