SARNIA, ON - The Jazz in the Village, 2007 committee, has been meeting on a regular basis since last year's festival in September, in order to produce the upcoming fall event. Frank Stewart, chairperson for the Jazz Committee, is sure that this year's line-up will be sold out before opening night, and promises that even the reluctant jazz enthusiast will want to attend! Jazz in the Village, 2007 is scheduled for September 14th and 15th, due to popular demand the festival has expanded to 2 days!



The line up for the 2007 Fall Festival includes “Jeff Healey and the Jazz Wizards" out of Toronto along with “All Smiles" who will open the Jazz Festival on Friday night, starting at 7PM.

On Saturday, “BLUES NIGHT AT THE JAZZ FESTIVAL", September 15th the entertainment will kick off at 10:30AM with the popular “Mardi Gras Dixieland Band" strolling throughout the park and local neighbourhood, at 1PM they will hit the main stage followed by the “Bluewater Big Band" at 3PM. “Denise Pelley" from London will be on stage at 5 o'clock, followed by “One Bald Tire", back by popular demand, out of Kitchener. And to cap off the evening: “Glamourpuss Acadian Blues Band" a popular group from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

The cost of a weekend pass is $40 for the two-day event. For Friday night with the All Smiles Jazz Band and Jeff Healy and the Jazz Wizards the cost is $25 in advance and $30 at the gate. A one-day pass for Saturday including Glamourpuss on Saturday night is available for $20 advance and $25 at the gate. The entire staging area and guest seating will be under a tent set up at the Lochiel Kiwanis Community Center, 180 College Ave. N., Sarnia, where the festival was held last year.

All proceeds from the event are donated to the Sarnia Organ Donor Awareness group.
