The Local Radio Company executive chairman, Richard Wheatly, has officially opened the newly relaunched Jazz FM.
The station went live this evening (Monday October 6) on digital radio multiplexes in London, the north-west, the west Midlands, Glasgow and south Wales.
Wheatly - the former Jazz FM chief executive who is now running the station under licence from GMG Radio - told listeners: “The return of Jazz FM is a tremendously exciting project for me personally. It was a much loved radio station with a fiercely loyal audience.
“We all need something to soothe our souls and make sense of the madness and turbulence of today. Jazz FM does that for me – and I hope it will do for you too.”
