The Jazz Expressions are a high octane quartet which tours world-wide and backs the legendary singer Little Jimmy Scott.

The Jazz Expressions began 15 years ago as the band for legendary vocalist Jimmy Scott. Since then, they’ve taken on a life of their own, and, under the watchful eye of musical director/bassist Hilliard “Hill” Greene, have blossomed onto the scene as an entity in and of themselves (though they still back Jimmy Scott). In addition to Hill on bass, the group features Dwayne Broadnax (drums), who’s played all over the world with greats such as Johnny Copeland, Earl King, Terrance Blanchard, and the late great Stevie Ray Vaughn, Aaron Graves (piano), noted for his work with Cassandra Wilson, Maceo Parker, James Moody, and Fred Wesley, and T.K. Blue (saxophone/flute) who’s diverse cultural influences include performances with Dizzy Gillespie, Pharaoh Sanders, Manu Dibango, Regina Carter, and a 24 year relationship with Randy Weston.

“I can’t say enough about the Jazz expressions. It would be hard to find more committed or more brilliant musicians. Their improvisations and progressive unions are flawless. For anyone who appreciates top-notch jazz symmetry, it doesn’t get much better."---John Hoglund Backstage Bistro Bits
