Jazz Bassist Christian McBride to Appear February 28th at Bloomfield College’s Westminster Arts Center
The Westminster Arts Center at Bloomfield College, Bloomfield New Jersey, announces the first evening in the premiere season of its new series, JazzTalks, intimate evenings of conversation and performance with contemporary jazz artists on their life and music. The premiere season of JazzTalks will begin bassist Christian McBride on Monday evening, February 28th, at 8:00 PM. JazzTalks will engage these artists in conversation and concert with Westminster Arts Center Artistic Director David Rosenak.
Rosenak, an announcer with Newark’s WBGO Jazz 88, was for many years associated with both the Lyrics and Lyricists and Jazz In July series at New York’s 92nd Street Y. Both of these popular, long-running series were based upon a unique mix of conversation with original artists, and performances of the works they created. JazzTalks will draw upon this concept, with Rosenak inviting prominent jazz musicians into conversations about their life and music, leading into intimate solo performances of their favorite works.
