Learn about jazz from the musicians who make it and the scholars who study it though Jazz at Lincoln Center’s “Swing University” program this fall.

The program offers the opportunity to hear your favorite music anew as professionals such as Phil Schaap and Lewis Nash share their insights, expertise and tall tales. The program offers several different types of classes, which are held once a week in 4 and 8 week sessions, and is a great way to expand your knowledge of jazz music!

The classes are held in the evening, and are for adults at every knowledge level. Some of the classes being offered this fall include “The Drums and the Rhythm Section” with drummer Lewis Nash, a class called “John Coltrane with WKCR radio personality and Jazz at Lincoln Center Curator Phil Schaap” and “Jazz Expert Wednesdays with Phil Schaap” which will be making its premier this fall.

Anyone who enjoys listening to jazz, playing jazz, or even would just love to learn more about the field and industry are welcome and encouraged to enroll with the “Swing University” program for the fall session.
