New York, NY - On October 21, 2004, Jazz at Lincoln Center (JALC) proudly opens the doors of its new jazz club, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola. The club, located in JALC's new home at Frederick P. Rose Hall (FPRH), offers spectacular views and serves a jazz inspired menu seven days a week. Subscribers may call for reservations as of today at 212-258-9595 or via www.jalc.org. The general public may call for reservations beginning September 13. The club featured artist sets are 7:30pm and 9:30pm every day of the week, plus 11pm Friday and Saturday. There will be an 11pm late-night hang set jam session Tuesday through Thursday plus after the last artist set on Friday and Saturday. On Monday nights both up-and-coming and veteran musicians will integrate seamlessly on the bandstand for the Jazz Stars of Tomorrow sets, providing performance opportunities for jazz bands from area colleges, including The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, New School and Queens College.

Musicians performing in the club will be given the time and artistic space to address their musical aims through extended bookings and artistic exploration.
Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola also includes a fine dinner menu by New York culinary creators Great Performances and Spoonbread Inc. The menu reflects the diversity of jazz and the regions that epitomize it, and provides a warm and inviting experience for guests in the club, which is named in honor of jazz legend John Birks “Dizzy" Gillespie and made possible by a leadership gift from The Coca-Cola Company. Great Performances is the exclusive caterer of FPRH and collaborated with Spoonbread Inc. to create recipes for the menu and cocktail selections, offering down-home flavors with New York flair. Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola grand opening menu selections include Rosemary Baby Lamb Chops, Southern Fried Chicken, North Carolina BBQ Ribs, Candied Yams, Black Eye Pea Fritters, and Cabbage and Collard Greens.
As part of JALC's Grand Opening Festival, from October 21 through November 7, Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola opens with a celebration of the music of jazz legend and bebop architect Dizzy Gillespie. For three weeks, the music written by, performed by, or made popular by Mr. Gillespie will be spotlighted. The Dizzy Gillespie Festival begins on October 21, which would've been Dizzy's 87th birthday. Following the three-week festival, the regular season at the club kicks into full gear with a variety of great musicians.
