Columbus, OH: On Thursday, November 10, the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG) promises an unprecedented musical journey, showcasing great Columbus musicians performing distinctly American styles with jazz, blues, soul, and folk music filling stages throughout the historic Lincoln Theatre. One Night Only celebrates Columbus at its best, with good friends, delicious food and great music, all to support the mission and music of Columbus' Jazz Arts Group.
This legendary Columbus venue will be in full swing all night, with music that's sure to move you. In the lobby, you'll be greeted by the sounds of Colin Lazarski's guitar stylings. Lazarski, who began playing guitar at age 10, is accomplished in a variety of different genres like blues, funk, and rock. Along with Lazarski, SpeakEasys innovative gypsy jazz will get you dancing in the ballroom, and classic jazz standards from members of the Columbus Youth Jazz program will set the scene in the Jazz Academy.
Then the show takes flight on the main stage with talented pianist, keyboardist and vocalist, Dave Powers. An active member in the Columbus music scene for over 30 years, Powers is considered one of the most successful musicians in the local spectrum, and his music is as diverse as his audiences. Powers will be joined onstage by surprise guests throughout the performance to take the music to another level.
One Night Only continues into the night with an after-party of dancing and desserts featuring the soulful sounds of Nick Tolford & Company in the ballroom and the sweet tones of The Salty Caramels' folk/Americana in the Jazz Academy.
