Columbus, OH -- NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, announced that the Jazz Arts Group of Columbus (JAG) is one of 25 recipients worldwide to receive a NAMM Foundation Program Grant.

The NAMM Foundation's 2010-2011 program grants will allocate $585,000 in funding to support innovative community-based music learning programs that allow more people the opportunity to experience the proven benefits of active music-making. JAG will receive $5,000 to support a new program initiative entitled “Adventures: The Jazz Academy Reaches Out."

NAMM Foundation Program Grants are available to non-profit public service organizations for innovative music education and hands-on music-making programs that reach and serve new audiences with new protocols. Since 1994, NAMM has supported worthy music-making initiatives through its grant program, providing $12.5 million in support.

“We thank all NAMM Members, who through their membership with the association and participation in the annual NAMM Show, help create more music makers through their support of these programs," said Mary Luehrsen, executive director of the NAMM Foundation.

“I am confident that NAMM will find the work of Jazz Arts Group to be impactful and in alignment with the mission of the NAMM Foundation," shared JAG executive director Robert Breithaupt. “We are grateful for the support and look forward to further developing this relationship for the benefit of music education."
