The underground and visceral beauty of the trombone’s sound.
Blowup
Following javascript:clean_up_text(141514);the acclaimed recording debut of their trio Sliders with Filippo Vignato, Federico Pierantoni and Lorenzo Manfredini will fly to Japan for six performances from October 3 to 11, 2025.
The seventeen tracks of their self-titled album — a mix of original compositions and inventive reinterpretations of works by major figures such as John Coltrane, Egberto Gismonti, Carla Bley and Duke Ellington, released by Hora Records last autumn — represent a personal transfiguration and redefinition of jazz sound and improvisational language.
The trombone, often considered the instrument closest to the human voice, with its infinite musical, tonal and expressive possibilities, is here explored by the three artists in continuous experimentation that embraces blues, folk and contemporary music. A miniature orchestra, gleaming like the brass of their instruments, capable of whispering, roaring, surprising, and — why not — moving the listener.
The 'Sliders in Japan' tour is organized by Metrotime Società Cooperativa with the support of MiC and SIAE, within the framework of the “Per Chi Crea” program, in collaboration with Shalestone Music.
