Over the past twenty-five years, Iris Lord has been an inspiration to the vivacious Manhattan underground music and performance art scene. Beginning with her first jazz opera, Death, Life and Patience, directed by Ornette Coleman at Town Hall in New York, Iris performed in many NYC venues such as Hurrah's, Village Gate, Symphony Space, and the NY Knitting Factory. She also produced many influential concerts and has collaborated with such luminaries as Philip Glass, Cecil Taylor, Ornette Coleman, James Blood" Ulmer, poet Ira Cohen, and Living Theater founder JudithMalina.
