An international jazz workshop will take place in Tuscany, Italy, this summer with a truly exceptional faculty from the Netherlands and USA: Harold Danko (piano), Hein Van de Geyn (bass) and Hans van Oosterhout (drums). Students enrolled at a music program, music teachers or professional musicians who want to know more about jazz improvisation or fairly strong amateurs, with a passion for jazz, have the chance to participate in this extraordinary full-immersion musical happening. The workshop takes place from 11-16 July in a 13th century Franciscan Monastery in the medieval town of Massa Marittima. Last day to enrol is 25 May 2005 and the number of students is limited to 3 pianists, 3 bassists, 3 drummers, 6 horn players and 3 guitarists.

Students have free entrance to all concerts at the Massa Marittima Jazz Week, which runs in parallel with the workshop. Toots Thielemans, Rosario Giuliani, Paolo Fresu and Dhafer Youssef will perform at the festival together with the workshop faculty. These jazz giants will also be meeting with the students. Organiser is Gurus’ Music and the event is sponsored by the Municipality of Massa Marittima.
