Austin City Limits Festival Announces Lineup

The Eagles and Phish will be making their only festival appearances of the year at the ninth annual Austin City Limits Music Festival in Austin, Tex., from Oct. 8 to 10.

They will be joined by more than 100 other acts, including Muse, the Strokes, M.I.A., Norah Jones, Flaming Lips, LCD Soundsystem, Band of Horses, the National, Gogol Bordello, Deadmau5, Spoon, Vampire Weekend, Sonic Youth, Monsters of Folk, the XX and Girls.

Elvis Costello said his decision to withdraw from the concerts was a matter of instinct and conscience.

Elvis Costello has canceled two concerts he was planning to perform in Israel this summer, citing the complexeties of the continuing Israeli- Palestinian conflict, Agence France-Presse reported. Publicists for Boney James say the Grammy-nominated jazz saxophonist has canceled a show after being struck by a suspected drunken driver in Long Beach.

They say James was driving home from a jazz festival in Newport Beach on Saturday when his car was rear-ended while he was stopped in traffic on Interstate 405. He suffered a fractured jaw, two broken teeth and a gash on his chin that needed 14 stitches.

New federal copyright infringement lawsuits plummeted to a six- year low in 2009, the year after the Recording Industry Association of America abandoned its litigation campaign against file sharers, court records show.
