That new iPad is tempting. But what if you put the money in Apple stock instead? A UC Berkeley computer science student has produced a spreadsheet showing what the return on investment would have been.

West Coast Jazz Party promoters Joe Rothman and John McClure announce a Sunset Jazz Summer Series at the Newport Beach Marriott Hotel in Orange County, California.

Featuring such renowned stars as drummer Jeff Hamilton, saxophonist Houston Person (pictured) and trumpeter Byron Stripling, concerts are scheduled each Wednesday evening, beginning July 7 though Aug. 25.
