Major Layoffs Coming to Myspace. Could Hit 25%

Layoff described by one source as “massive" are coming to MySpace although there is no official word yet from the company. MySpace shed 5% of its staff a year ago and laid of as many as 45 more last month. But these cuts will go far deeper, according to TechCrunch and could hit several hundred. Management will inevitably blame a tough economy and plummeting ad revenue, but declining traffic is the real culprit.

New Apple Safari Browser Wins Fans

U.S Online Video Views Jump 16% to 16.8 Billion

April 2009 data from the comScore Video Metrix showed that U.S. net users viewed 16.8 billion online videos during the month, a 16% increase over March. A significant increase at YouTube contributed to the gains.YouTube Accounts for 40%

Apple Debuts Aggressively Priced iPhone 3GS, Macbooks

Apple on Monday delivered several major announcements at rapid fire, including iPhone and MacBook upgrades, significant price cuts and an in-depth look at its next-generation operating system.

The most anticipated announcement was that of the iPhone 3GS smartphone, the successor to Apples popular iPhone 3G. The S stands for speed, referring to the performance boost of the new iPhone up to two times faster than its predecessor, according to Apple.

Pirate Party Wins EU Parliament Seat

Christian Engstrm will assume the EU Pirate Party seat this fall Swedens Pirate Party won a seat in the European Union Parliament, swept in Sunday amid outrage over a new copyright law and the convictions of the four founders of The Pirate Bay.
